Iftikhar Ahmad

Iftikhar is a seasoned senior executive with 40+ years management, business development and experience from startups to the Fortune 500.  Since 2013 he’s Managing Director, MENA for Authentix, the world leader in authenticating products to combat counterfeiting, protect brand equity and assure program integrity in Oil & Gas, Currency & Excise Tax recovery.  Previously at Safran Morpho, world leader in security, he was Director Sales & BD and L-1 Identity Solutions Biometrics, as VP BD. In 1995 he was with Viisage, as company officer, SVP Global Services heading driver license & ID division. In 1985 joined Digital Equipment Corp as Manager in Advanced Technologies.

Aijaz Baloch

Aijaz Baloch provides overall direction and guidance for US operations of Techlogix, an IT services, consulting and business solutions company serving global clientele.  He has 28 years of experience in applied research and management of intelligent applications.  Aijaz conducted his doctoral research in neural models for behavioral conditioning and implementation on mobile robots at MIT Lincoln Laboratories, and developed neural models of visual motion perception and implemented real-time systems for visual motion processing at Boston University’s Department of Cognitive and Neural Systems.  Aijaz received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Boston University in Engineering & Applied Sciences.

Masooma Bhaiwala

Masooma Bhaiwala studied Computer/Electrical Engineering at NED University of Engineering and Technology in Pakistan where she was the top-ranked student and was awarded the Gold Medal and the Quaid-e-Azam Scholarship for graduate studies in the USA.

She completed her Masters degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Massachusetts after which she worked for Digital Equipment Corp. and Sun Microsystems as a computer architect and Senior Project Manager. In 2004, she joined. AMD where she is responsible for the design and development of both off-the shelf as well as custom chips. She oversees development teams located in Boston, Canada, India and China.  She is the site lead of AMD’s Women’s Forum which helps mentor women employees in their career and work/life balance.  Masooma is also a founding member of The Citizens Foundation’s Boston Chapter, whose mission is to provide quality education to the disadvantaged children in Pakistan.  She is also involved with efforts to raise awareness of domestic violence.

Yasmin Causer

Yasmin is a Principal in the Private Client Services group at KLR, a New England Regional Public Accounting Firm that is ranked among the Top 100 firms in the United States.  Earlier in her career, she was Managing Director in charge at Plus Services Group.  She is a CPA/PFS and received her Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bentley University.

Tahir Chaudhry

Tahir H. Chaudhry is CEO of Tenacity Medical, Corp ( ), a board member at myVillage, Inc ( , www.myVillage.US ).

He is a founding member of a number of non profits, including OPEN, Inc. ( ), Pak Flood Relief Group ( ). He is past President of Pakistani Association of Greater Boston ( ) and Islamic Center of Boston – Wayland ( ).

Tenacity Medical manufactures Electronic Medical Devices for Neurological and Neuromuscular evaluation, sEMG Imaging, rehabilitation and human factors research.

myVillage offers online Event Registration, Event Book Keeping, Email Marketing, Customer Surveys, Venue Search, Subscription Management, and more, to help non-profit and for-profit organizations increase interaction with their stakeholders.

myVillage business units now offer Healthcare Portals, that include Patient Scheduling and Patient Interaction Systems.

Mr. Chaudhry was born in Lahore, Pakistan and moved to UK in 1972, he holds MSc in Digital Systems and a BSc in EE from UK.

He started his career in European avionics industry where he worked as hardware and then software Design, Systems Engineer, Director designing Aircraft Avionics, for aircrafts, such as Tornado, Sea Harrier, and Airbus 300. Mr. Chaudhry moved to US in 1989 from Oxford, UK.

Tanvir Hussain

Tanvir is an advisor, investor and technology product leader who has led growth in large software businesses (CA, Lucent, McGraw-Hill Education) as well start-ups (TRG, Kenan).  He enjoys building diverse, collaborative, high performing teams that connect to customers, always learn, and have fun doing so.  Attending an OPEN event, he met and subsequently joined the TRG team, helping to build a global BPO with two large centers in Pakistan.  Some fun projects included: launching the first two Telstar 4 spacecraft, building the first desktop video conferencing service in 1993, the first multi-service billing product for the deregulating utility industry, data center automation software for hybrid cloud, and adaptive SaaS learning platforms for K-12 students.  Tanvir has degrees in engineering and business from Princeton (MS) and Harvard (SB, MBA).

Azmi Jafarey

Azmi Jafarey is CIO and SVP of Technology Architecture at Intralinks, recently acquired by Synchronoss. Intralinks provides secure collaboration spaces for businesses. This is through a cloud-based content collaboration network where sensitive information can move freely around the globe while maintaining security and compliance. Previously, Azmi was CIO at Ipswitch for nine years, responsible for operations, infrastructure, business applications and data analytics. Before joining Ipswitch, Jafarey held positions as vice president of IT and tech services at Vertical Communications, Inc. Prior to that he was with Solutia and Monsanto, where he managed global R&D Computing and information services as well as systems groups. Jafarey holds an MS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts. In 2013, he was named CIO of the Year by Boston Business Journal and Mass High Tech.


Imran Khan

Imran H. Khan started SoftServ Intl. in 1995 to provide product development services to client companies in the US. Prior to starting SoftServ he held senior management positions in companies developing Machine Vision systems, Data Acquisition products and Interactive Voice Response Systems.

SoftServ also develops surveillance product line called Staristix. High resolution EO/Thermal cameras and lidar sensors can be exploited using mil-spec servers. He is looking to develop relationship with robotics, UAV and ISR companies.

His research interests are in deep learning, brain interfaces, bio-silicon systems, machine learning and high performance systems.

Mr. Khan holds MSEE from University of California, Santa Barbara and a Bachelors in Avionics from College of Aeronautical Engineering in Pakistan.  He is a founding Board Member of OPEN and the first President of the founding New England Chapter.



Jamshed Khan

Jamshed is the founder president of The Trieste Group. Prior to founding Trieste Group, he was VP-head of Investments Technology and Quantitative Services at RiverSource Investments (an Ameriprise Financial company; formerly American Express Financial Advisors) in Boston.

Before joining American Express, he was SVP of investment technology at Zurich Scudder/Deutsche Bank prior to which he played various senior roles in Fidelity Investments, Putnam Investments and Wellington Management. He served as Senior Management Consultant to the U.S Department of Treasury.  He has led R&D and centers of excellence for implementing best practices in all aspects of financial engineering and developing processes and tools for portfolio management, hedge funds, research and trading.  Jamshed holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Physics from University of Massachusetts and Master of Science degree in Nuclear Physics from University of Karachi, Pakistan.

Kewan Khawaja

Kewan Khawaja is Founder and Co-CEO of Techlogix, an IT services, consulting and business solutions company serving a global clientele.  While donning multiple hats, Kewan loves playing a motivational role to bring out the best in the company’s multifaceted workforce.  His consulting interests are focused around business process management, business intelligence, and alignment of enterprise IT initiatives with corporate strategy.  Kewan holds a Masters degree in Information Systems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Naheed Shafi Malik

Naheed is a Finance Executive with over 20 years of experience, Big 4 CPA, and MBA from Harvard Business School. Currently, she serves as VP of Corporate Finance at American Tower Corporation.   Leader of high-performance global finance teams and operational business partner.  Implemented worldwide financial processes and systems to drive effective decision-making. Significant M&A experience evaluating acquisitions for maximum shareholder value, including multi-billion U.S. and international deals.  Management consulting, REIT, marketing, and capital markets experience provides unique strategic perspective to financial leadership.

Ambereen Mirza

Ambereen Mirza has over ten years of experience as a consultant, researcher and instructor in Social Entrepreneurship, Risk Mitigation, and International development. She has worked with government agencies, quasi-government regulators, multilaterals, international development firms, non-governmental organizations, nonprofits, and micro, small, and medium enterprises. Her projects have targeted tourism development, workforce expansion, private sector competitiveness, disaster relief, economic governance, access to finance and healthcare at the bottom of the pyramid, and information, communication, and technology (ICT) promotion in the emerging markets.  Ambereen holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and History from Tufts University, and a Master’s in International Public Policy from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

Imran Qidwai

Currently working in Precision Agriculture at Intel, an IoT, Mobile, Cloud and Telecom services technologist and entrepreneur with years of success in startup and mature environments. After working in several large & small companies in progressive technical and management positions, founded a mobile messaging company taking it through the complete startup lifecycle to acquisition. Founding member of OPEN (1998). Interested and knowledgeable in clean tech. Past employers include Aepona (now Intel), L1-ID (Safran), Lotus (IBM), Digital Equipment (HP), NMS (OnMobile), Philips, ICL (Fujitsu) and SoftLinx. Has a BS EE, E.D.E. from PII Eindhoven, and MS in CICE from University of Michigan.

Imran Sayeed

Imran is a visionary, high-impact executive and respected thought leader who was recognized in 2013 by Computerworld as one of the Premier 100 IT Leaders.  With his unique background spanning startups, large global companies and academia, Imran has demonstrated an outstanding ability to build strategic partnerships and transform organizations by harnessing rapidly evolving technologies coming out of leading universities.  He founded and served as Chairman and CEO of netNumina, growing the company from a 15-person startup to one of Computerworld’s Top 100 emerging companies and Inc 500’s fastest growing businesses; the company was sold to Keane in 2005.  He currently teaches at the MIT Sloan School of Management, and founded the non-profit Teach-The-World Foundation.  Imran is a graduate of Brown University and did post-graduate work at Harvard.


Fareena Sultan

Dr. Fareena Sultan is a Professor of Marketing at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business (DMSB), Northeastern University, Boston where she has been a faculty member since 1995. She was the Robert Morrison Fellow and the MBA Marketing Career Track Chair at Northeastern from 2006 to 2011.  Prior to Northeastern, Dr. Sultan was an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Harvard Business School for six years, a Visiting Associate Professor at Haas Business School, UC Berkeley and an Associate Professor at Golden Gate University. She has been a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University and at the Center for Digital Business, Sloan School, MIT. She has also been a Senior Research Associate at the Marketing Science Institute (MSI) in Cambridge, MA.  She received her Ph.D. in Marketing from Columbia University and also has Masters degrees in Operations Research from MIT and Applied Mathematics from the University of Karachi.
